Hotel Falken in Wengen est. 1895
In the late 1880s Wengen and its surroundings were among the first regions in Switzerland to attract strong interest from tourists and sportsmen.
People came to ski during the winter months and treck, mountaineer and rock climb during the summer.
The rack mountain railway has been in place since 1893 and is still the only way to connect Wengen with the Lauterbrunnen valley.
The unique charm and historical past of the Hotel Falken have been supplemented by modern comforts, offering an enchanting balance between history and the present.
Andrea Cova, who managed the hotel jointly with his mother Elsa Cova for many years, was a remarkable man filled with innovative ideas. He was the initiator for the inclusion of the Jungfrau – Aletsch – Bietschhorn area in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites and we remain proud of this recognition. Today the hotel is run by Susanna Cova and two of her daughters, Jennifer and Vanessa Cova.

Wengen has always been, and remains a car free village. The only vehicles allowed in wengen belong to the doctor, hotels for transportation of clients and goods and any other business in town that would need a means of transportation.

Hotel Falken was built in the year of 1895, in a breathtaking location with a view of the Jungfrau and Lauterbrunnen valley. This historic hotel has been lovingly and hospitably managed from that day to this by the von Allmen – Cova family.
